Boy, it didn’t take long for Jasper Gates to catch our attention. The new 20 home condo project by Beljan Developments has an awesome website (so user friendly!) that would cause most developers to go green with envy. We were captivated before we even took a look at the amenities, the location and the homes themselves.
That’s a good sign!
So what’s making us so keen on the neighbourhood? Well, first off, the Stony Plain Road area and Canora neighbourhood will be getting a full makeover starting in Spring 2012. The City of Edmonton will be replacing roads, curbs, sidewalks and streetlights from 149th to 156th Street.
The commute to downtown from here is only 5 minutes, but there are still plans for an LRT station for added convenience. It will be located only within one hundred feet from Jasper Gates (score!).
The city hopes to have the construction finished by 2013 and we’re thinking that by then the neighbourhood will be looking pretty glorious.Great news, because by the sounds of it, Jasper Gates residents will be spending an awful lot of time outside during the warm months! To the south east, there’s the extensive River Valley Trail System that’s sure to satisfy runners, cyclists, dog walkers and normal walkers.
Cyclists will get the added bonus of a cycle shop just around the corner from the development as well as amenities like a bike wash station and a bike storage room in the parkade of the building. Looks like Jasper Gates is just a cyclist friendly project!
Speaking of friendly, the development will also be pet friendly. Dogs (and the rare cat) will be loving the trail system nearby and Beljan has taken pet friendliness seriously when designing the building.
Well, there you have it. Jasper Gates, probably the friendliest project in Edmonton. Whether you’re an avid walker, keen cyclist, location-lover, website user or a dog, you’ll find that this development is as genial as they come.
