It was the perfect day for it. Mostly clear skies and not unseasonably cold — now that’s prime construction tour time! 77 Charles West is situated on Charles Street between Bay and Avenue road, on the northeast end of the University of Toronto campus.
This is no student residence though… This luxurious development will have suites up to 4072 square feet, 10′ to 12′ ceilings and architecture by the world renowned HOK. Prices start at a cool $2.1 million.
The highly acclaimed architect Yann Weymouth, who is best known as the mind behind the pyramid entrance to the Louvre in Paris, brought his design expertise to 77 Charles West, so you know you’re getting something unique.
As you’ll see from our photos posted below, construction is well underway and occupancy is slated for 2012. Now strap on your hard hats and lace your steel toed boots! We’re heading into the site…
Hard to beat this Toronto morning view. That’s from the penthouse on the 16th floor, fyi.
Great view of the nearby University of Toronto campus as well! Some prefer spring, some fall, but this view will definitely look amazing no matter what time of year it is.
Looking north! The southern view is swell, but some may prefer this direction simply because you can get a good sense of the varied density of the surrounding area.
This terrace will be split down the middle for two different suites to enjoy. Judging by the size, there still will be enough space for two households to entertain guests on the same night.
We’re loving these unique windows. Only a few developments in Toronto have windows like these.
Wonder what they’ll be putting there?
The 16 storey, 56 unit building in all of its glory.
