We wanted to do something special on the blog this Thanksgiving and we decided that a top 7 list of buildings shaped like turkeys would be ideal. After all, what could be a better mascot for Thanksgiving than a turkey?
We set to work searching the Internet for good candidates, but quickly realized our mission may be impossible. It was hard enough finding two buildings shaped like turkeys, let alone seven. We also discovered that it was much easier finding photos of buildings IN Turkey (which were still quite cool) rather than finding buildings shaped like them.
So what were we to do? Give up? Never! That’s not the BuzzBuzzHomie way. Instead, we bring you one building that is a definitive turkey tower. It may be familiar to you once you see the photos, but we’re not going to give it away just yet.
First, some clues: people between the ages of 17 and 90+ flock there to gain knowledge; many an energy drink has been consumed there in the wee hours of the night; the building was named for an Ontario premier.

Any guesses?

It’s Robarts Library at the University of Toronto!! It may not be pretty, but this turkey is the best place to get work done at 3am during exam season.
Whether the building looks more like a turkey or a peacock is somewhat of a contentious topic amongst current students and graduates alike.
Robarts contains more than 4.8 million books. Now that’s one well-read turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!
