We’re all for sophisticated advertising campaigns to promote new condo developments, but sometimes the over-abundance of these slick campaigns gets us asking “where is the love?”

Well, Gemterra Development has got an answer for us. They’re launching LOVE CONDOS in Scarborough and have enlisted award-winning London-based illustrator, Melvyn Evans to create some warm, heart-melting artwork for the project.

Evans’ playful and imaginative designs were on display for a Transport For London ad campaign where they caught the attention of Gemterra‘s agency, L.A. Ads. They signed Evans up to integrate a unique form of storytelling into LOVE‘s advertising and marketing materials. It was a great choice! Evans’ artwork tugs at our heart strings and definitely makes LOVE stand out.

It’s one thing to talk about the art, but why don’t we just show off some of Evans’ work? Have a look!

Evans began his career in 1992 and has won multiple awards for his work. This year he won the London Transport SERCO prize for Illustration for his interpretation of the River Thames.

When it comes to condo advertising, this certainly isn’t what we’re accustomed to, but we like it a lot! The colours and the characters are refreshing and imaginative and we LOVE the fact that Evans has incorporated a storytelling aspect into LOVE‘s brochures, signage and other materials. Heck, we want to get a brochure just to see what what he’s come up with.

The nature themes contained in Evans’ art reflect the beautiful landscaping that will surround the development. There will be two buildings that will sit on Bonis Avenue, overlooking the Tam O’Shanter Golf Course. The first phase will be a 20 storey glass tower and a collection of condominium townhomes.

So are you feeling the love for this development yet? We were surprised by the art at first, but it didn’t take long before Evans’ marvelous illustrations charmed their way into our hearts.

We’re sure to be getting more info about this development soon, and hopefully more great art to showcase as well! Check back often for all the latest buzz.
