It’s called the ‘Yorkville Collection’ and it sets its sights directly on young up-and-comers who may be priced out of the typical 1,000+ square foot layouts at Pears on the Avenue, the much-discussed condominium and townhome project soon to grace Pears Ave. and Avenue Rd. in Toronto.
The ‘Yorkville Collection’ is, apparently, the final new product release before construction begins in autumn. It consists of a series of new one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two bedroom designs in sizes smaller than have been offered so far at Pears.
Pears on the Avenue is, of course, the 20-storey Page+Steele/IBI Group Architects building that will sit confidently atop a neighbourhood-friendly 3-storey glass and brick podium. Inside, a three story lobby features a soon-to-be-famous spiral staircase that one of the building’s lead architects, Mansoor Kazerouni, told us was “a great counterpoint to the orthogonal geometry of the lobby itself and of the overall architectural expression of the building.” In other words, it’s a great touch!
Though a boutique building, Pears on the Avenue by Menkes Developments will offer a full roster of amenities including a 24-hour concierge, a stunning spa-inspired indoor pool room and whirlpool, a fully-equipped gym, a yoga studio and meditation deck, a multi-purpose party room, a screening room, a private boardroom and a guest suite. We can’t think of any base left untouched, really.
Word is, the ‘Yorkville Collection’ will be released officially in a special sales event sometime in May – so start your engines, and check back soon for the latest details.
