The latest from the good people at The Daniels Corporation is that construction at Cinema Tower is progressing smoothly and that the crew should be at the ground floor by the end of June. And you know what they say: It’s all up from there.
Cinema Tower is to be a glamorous 43-storey, 444-unit condominium at Adelaide Street West between Peter Street and Widmer Street, otherwise known as the beating heart of the desirable King West ‘hood. And, in case you’re wondering, the project’s name is derived from the fact that the building will rub shoulders with the brand spankin’ new TIFF Bell Lightbox.
A few weeks ago we sat down with Sam Tassone, one of the many people working diligently on Cinema Tower (click here to read the interview) and he was kind enough to pass along some jaw-dropping facts and stats related to the project.
Read ’em after taking a glance at the progress being steadily made. . .
Tonnes of rebar used throughout the project: 2,900
Cubic sheets of concrete: 29,000
Sheets of drywall: 54,000
Square feet of glass: 180,000
Total height above grade in metres of the finished building: 145
And now you know!
