On Friday April 8, 2011 at approximately 0400 hours BuzzBuzzHome’s engineering team deployed a site-wide update code-named Project 8. The deployment was flawless with zero downtime.

This morning we received some funny compliments on the update referring to “amazing new features” that were not actually in this update – stuff that’s been on BuzzBuzzHome for some time already. We’d therefore like to give a brief overview on what Project 8 is really all about.

At its core Project 8 is about providing a better search experience. This means a new predictive search tool that enables searching by any address, intersection, town, or city in the entire world! This new supercharged predictive text also allows searching for people (BuzzBuzzHome users), developers, and developments. Results now also include an image snippet.

Clicking on any location brings users to a new page called ListView that replaces the old giant map. This new page page gives you the option to browse by list, map or both. Projects may also be filtered by type, price, maintenance fees, selling status and construction status.

Lastly, project 8 places jet packs on the speed performance of BuzzBuzzHome. The site is now faster. So, give Project 8 a try and, please, let us know your thoughts!
