A building so nice, he bought twice: That’s right, Mark Service, a teacher at St. Andrew’s College, has bought condominium units at both phases of The Ridgewood [map] project, in Aurora, by The Rockport Group.
In December 2009, Mark bought an 835-square foot, one bedroom plus den suite on The Ridgewood Phase I’s third floor. But then, when Phase 2 kicked off last spring, there he was again, among those first in line at the presentation centre. Curious?
Turns out, Mark wanted a little more space, sure, but the driving factor in flipping units was his wish for a view of the nicely landscaped outdoor saltwater pool. Mission accomplished: He’s the proud new owner of a 990-square foot, two bedroom plus den home on the second floor.
“I really loved Ridgewood the moment I saw it. I had lived in a townhouse in Newmarket and, frankly, I was sick of yard work and certainly didn’t need all that space. Besides, every summer I travel for 3 months; last year it was Africa, this year it will be Brazil.”
Travel was, in fact, the reason Mark missed out on the poolside suites the first time around – they went like hotcakes and he was out out of the country.
The folks at The Rockport Group confirm that Phase II has been every bit as successful as the initial launch, partly due to the range of available layouts. Buyers can choose anything from 610 square foot one bedrooms to 1,259 square foot two bedrooms (some, as per plan, with two baths). Suites on the ground floor feature private patios, floors two through four have expansive balconies, and the top two floors boast their own private terraces.
Feature-wise, The Ridgewood II offers engineered hardwood flooring, elegant and sizable baseboards, extended European-style kitchen cabinetry, and granite counter tops.
