Hot off the press, we’ve got a chic new black and white rendering of King + Condos [map] coming ‘atcha! (That’s it to the left.) The good people at Plus Development Group certainly do have a way with stoking interest, though; the more we see, the more we want to see!
Perhaps it’s a good place to remind you about what we know so far: King Plus is to be a 17-storey, 132-unit condominium residence at the corner of Sherbourne Street and King Street East.
Ah, yes, King Street East. . .There’s a lot to say about this quickly evolving little stretch of downtown TO, including that it’s got some interesting heritage to live up to. Originally settled early in the 19th century, and named for this guy, the street is increasingly a hub for artists, advertising agencies, and those who work in design. Naturally, its got an increasingly assertive energy and an eclectic but savvy aesthetic.
And speaking of ‘savvy’, the word would describe those people and businesses getting into the King East neighbourhood while it’s on the up-and-up. Eateries and cool bars dot the ‘hood, George Brown College houses its well-regarded culinary institute steps away (speaking of good eats. . .), and plus you’re in close proximity to St. Lawrence Market.
An often overlooked benefit of the King East area is its quick access to the Don Valley Parkway and Bayview Extension for when you’ve just got to leave all the excitement and action behind for a little awhile. . .
Anyway, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for this latest on King + Condos, and will report back soon!
