Lace up a comfortable pair of sneakers and come along with BuzzBuzzHome for a tour of Churchill Park Condominiums, the new wonder-building at the top of the St. Clair Hill a touch west of Bathurst Street. Not into a walk at the moment? OK, fine – just give that scrolling finger a work-out.
Let’s start in the lobby where Katherine Newman, of Katherine Newman Design Inc (who handled all the interior design) chose to pair unique wooden textures with grey basalt stone and creamy marble. The result is an airy, sophisticated feel. Touches like the light fixtures – which were also in the presentation gallery – set the thoughtful and quality-centric tone for the rest of the building.
The lobby also features a 24-hour concierge
The two fixtures frame the fireplace
The amenity list delivers everything one could expect including a Club Room with catering kitchen for large dinner parties. For those for whom fitness is first, there are country-club level changing rooms, a massage space, a spa, a yoga room and an awesome gym room to (Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) “pump you up” – or, of course, allow you to take a leisurely jog.
The floors are spectacular in the gym and throughout the building
Up at the 14th – and top – floor, the views from the penthouse suites, which are still under construction, are unparalleled. In fact, throughout the building the views are pretty magnificent. The Quadrangle Architects-design cleverly created eye-popping views in all directions by using an elongated oval shape and by putting a maximum of four suites on each floor (some have floors have only three). Further, every suite features a balcony, a terrace, or both.
A long low whistle is the only appropriate reaction
The two model suites a terrific sense of what life in the building is like – though, fair warning, you may never want to leave. One is a 2060-square foot two bedroom plus den (which could easily be a third bedroom) layout, and the other is 1685-square foot two bedroom. Both make fantastic use of a fireplace and splendid hardwood floors. The bathrooms feature Ms. Newman’s typically detail-oriented eye and the kitchens fuse top-flight appliances with intelligently-executed cabinetry.
And yes, those trademark red dials in the kitchen mean a Wolf range
This model follows a darker colour scheme, while the other goes bright and light
Note the border around the main part of the floor – fancy stuff!
OK the tour’s finished (scroll back up to take it again) but a few more nuts and bolts before we sign out: Churchill Park Condominiums by Tower Hill Development features a total of about 45-units throughout its 14-storeys and is located seconds from the St. Clair subway station and from a Loblaw’s (with an LCBO), plus it also looks down onto Winston Churchill Park – from which the project derives its name.
If you’re interested, we counsel you to get movin‘ – the time window to be able to fully customize the colour scheme in your new home is only another few months!
