February 7, 2011
You know the boxes on your February calendar marked with the numbers 26 and 27? Throw an exclamation mark in ’em because that’s the weekend that Edilcan Development Corporation is holding the Grand Opening of its Thunderbird [map] project.
At 35-storeys, Thunderbird is soon to be the tallest of the three tower community in the emerging Etobicoke City Centre.
The kick-off of the second phase comes as One Valhalla, the community’s first phase, continues its remarkable success; the suites and townhomes in One Valhalla have sold quickly enough that demolition of the original inn (from which One Valhalla gets its name) has already begun.
The three glass-clad towers will rise from a one-acre landscaped podium, and will surround a European-style stone-walled courtyard complete with planters, decorative lighting and a playground (bring your mini-shovels!).
One of the perks unique to Thunderbird is that many of the community’s amenities will be housed in it. One that sounds particularly appealing on a cold winter’s day is the pool and hot tub area that leads out onto a landscaped sun deck.
Getting down to brass tacks, Thunderbird offers a selection of one-bedroom and one-bedroom plus den layouts that range from 562 to 756 square feet; and two-bedroom designs from 853 to 954 square feet, some available with large terraces. Three-storey townhomes will sit at the base of the tower. Prices range from the low $200s and stretch up to the mid $400s.
If you’re interested, check out the Presentation Centre at 1 Valhalla Inn Road in Etobicoke. And again, the Grand Opening event, to which you’re invited, will be on February 26th.
