Most people have never heard of a seven star hotel but thats not stopping China from building one. Beijing plans to construct a “seven-star hotel” at a cost of $1.3 billion in a joint project with Saudi Arabia.

According to the Beijing Morning Post the building will be modeled after the slender and tapering Burj Dubai (now known as the Burj Khalifa), the world’s tallest building. Authorities did not say though how tall the planned structure would be.

The hotel will be located in a primarily rural area of the capital Beijing called the Mentougou district about 30 kilometers from the city center.

The Saudi side is expected to cover the entire cost of the building and senior Chinese officials are saying that renderings and planning of the hotel have already been completed.
