We’ve posted a handful of stories in the past few months reporting on how 68 Main Street [map] by Sierra Building Group is leading a return to vibrancy for the Markham Village neighbourhood.

Well the proof, as the saying goes, is in the pudding. And the pudding is, in this case, the story of Matthew Tafeit, an excited purchaser of one of 68 Main’s new suites.

Matthew, a project manager for an IT firm in Markham, is a first time buyer and says that 68 Main Street appealed to his eye, wallet, and sense of community all at once:

“When you consider the price, size and amenities, you get a lot more for your money here. It’s close to where I work. . . It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the GO Train [and] in addition to being convenient, this is an area undergoing revitalization. It’s a great investment for my first home.”

He went for the 712 square foot one-bedroom plus den Robinson design and says he’s excited to maximize the time he spends on his balcony which overlooks the private piazza-style courtyard and is further jazzed to hit the rooftop terrace, gym, and stores on the ground level.

And speaking of the retail space, it will include a cafe with an outdoor, which, we’re guessing, should contribute to the strengthening of the Markham Village vibe.
