Have you ever wanted to buy a three-bedroom condo, but couldn’t afford it? A condo penthouse just sold in Montreal, with a terrace the size of a typical 3-bedroom suite!

The price? $13 million, making it the most expensive penthouse ever sold in the city – according to the Montreal Gazette.

The location? The Residences at the Ritz Carlton Montreal!

According to The Montreal Gazette:

“Despite expectations that a wealthy foreigner would nab the penthouse, the buyer is local, said veteran real estate broker JJ Jacobs.

Jacobs, of JJ Jacobs Realty Inc. wouldn’t disclose the name of the buyer, or divulge any more details about the penthouse.”

The Ritz Montreal – located in the Golden Square Mile – is a retrofit/restoration of the 98-year-old hotel, and will have 46-condo-suites and 130 hotel rooms.

The hotel portion of the building is set to open in the fall of 2011, with residences occupying in the fall of 2012.

Expensive? Or, a bargain? Think of Toronto’s Four Seasons penthouse with a price tag of $30millon. Or, Aura on College Park, which has a price tag of $17.5 million.
