Charm and ambiance, we’re betting, are the reasons you love that particular neighbourhood restaurant or the funky bar down the street; no doubt, they’re desirable qualities for space to have.
68 Main Street [map], Markham Village’s eagerly anticipated condominium project by Sierra Building Group, has them in spades! And that extends to the model suite.
The woman behind Flora Di Menna Designs, the suite’s interior design team, recently took some time to elaborate on the ideas behind the suite’s look. Says Ms. Di Menna:
“Like the architecture of the condominium itself, the model at 68 Main Street Condominiums is contemporary with touches of traditional. Buyers of all ages are attracted to this building, and the model accommodates a variety of lifestyles.”
The coziness of the two-bedroom model suite, explains Ms. Di Menna, is largely the result of how the palette of taupe cream walls melts into rich hardwood floors. In the kitchen, contemporary touches blend into dark cabinets, which are themselves complemented by earthy granite countertops. The bedrooms, both accentuated with silk and linen drapery, are equally soothing.
If the space reminds you of an exquisite and comfortable leather chair – it’s because it’s supposed to.
The entire design, Ms. Di Menna said, is grounded in nature – and there are even nice big windows to see the real thing!
The kitchen intersperses the laid back, earthy feel with cool contemporary touches like the subway tile backsplash
Type away in elegance
“A lovely haven of relaxation” says Ms. Di Menna
And speaking of charm and ambiance, Markham Village itself knows a thing or two on the subject (gaslight lamps, anyone?). Click here to read about the BuzzBuzzHome’s Markham field trip.
