November 11, 2010
Yesterday was a beautiful day, so the BuzzBuzzhomies declared “ROAD-TRIP” and went to Etobicoke to see how Amexon‘s baby was progressing.
And it certainly looked good! Cranes were out in full force, working away diligently on completing the first tower, with occupancy set for late summer 2011.
The project will include two towers, each rising 31 storeys; the top storey of the first tower is being completed right now.
Here’s the view of Toronto as seen from the top level. It was very cold up there, even for such a balmy November day, big ups to the 98 people currently working the site!
As you can see from the artist rendering (top left), a distinct architectural feature of the building are the ‘fins’ rising from and encasing the top. Here you can see the fins in progress (above).
We also got a grand introduction to Ralph, a fine show horse that was featured in South Beach’s presentation gallery and marketing campaign.
South Beach will also include 1600 sq. ft. of commercial space, with a gourmet restaurant and grocer, and over 40, 000 sq. ft. of amenities.
As for availability, the first phase of South Beach is completely sold out, and out of a total of 626 suites, only 7 are still up for grabs in the remaining tower, starting from $248,000. A select number of penthouse suites are also still available.
Take a road-trip to Etobicoke too…the waterfront is beautiful, even in November!
