The team at BuzzBuzzHome loves to hear from condo purchasers and hear their reasons behind buying at a development and what appealed to them.
At Ridgewood Condominum’s Phase II [map] Grand Opening luau we talked to recent buyer Lorraine Thorn and couldn’t help but leave with a smile on our faces after hearing her story.
After her husband died in 2004, Ms. Thorn found herself alone in her two-storey Scarborough townhome, unable to take care of all the related maintenance work; shoveling snow, washing windows and sweeping the patio was just too much for this 63 year old retiree.
Living in the heart of Scarborough–alone–also didn’t appeal to Ms. Thorn.
Never one to miss an opportunity, all it took was a trip up to the Ridgewood’s presentation center in Aurora and a perusal of the suite layouts: she moved into her 730 sq. ft. one-bedroom plus den suite the first week of August–and is thrilled.
“I now have a perfectly carefree life,” she said, “haven’t been happier in years”.
While Ms. Thorn was able to purchase a suite from Ridgewood’s Phase I (now nearly sold-out), many ideal suites are still up for the taking with Ridgewood’s recently opened Phase II.
Developers, The Rockport Group, are striving to make Ridgewood perfect for people like Ms. Thorn.
All suites enjoy outdoor living spaces, with either private patios, balconies or terraces. Phase II amenities include a party room with kitchen, adjacent outdoor terrace and entertainment area; a fitness room, yoga room and spa with whirlpool.
Aurora’s been good to Ms. Thorn as well, with a shopping center right in the heart of the city only a short walk away.
Maybe we can take Ms. Thorn’s story as a small victory in the world of real estate–all in a day’s work!
