Naysayers take heed!

Great product + great location = hot market (even if the product goes for well over a million dollars).

Ancroft Place [map] epitomizes this winning equation, with its recognized historic mojo located in a secluded hideaway in South Rosedale , it’s no wonder that these 21 restored town-mansions have nearly sold-out, even with a price tag of up to $1.8 million.

Canlight Realty Corp. probably never doubted the success of the Ancroft Place project.

Ever since their construction in 1927, the homes have been rental units, slightly odd for buildings of such high esteem.

Canlight sought to give the (City of Toronto designated) historic homes new life through restoration and making them available through purchase as condominium units, with the hope that ownership would inspire even greater care of the properties.

And it worked! The final release of 8 homes took place on September 15th, and now there are only 2 homes remaining.

YET, since these town-mansions have a rich history, are totally unique from one another with features that would be nearly impossible to recreate nowadays, and are less than the cost of many Yorkville condos, we can’t say we’re too surprised that they’re nearly sold-out.

So here are some pics of the model unit, to inspire envy in the rest of us!

Enormous original fireplace.

Living room with traditional 9 ft ceilings and lead-framed windows.

Master en-suite bathroom

Spacious dining area.

Congrats Canlight on such a successful and worthwhile project! Only 2 units remain – for more details visit their website.
