68 Main Street [map]! Grand Opening!

This past weekend saw the grand opening of Markham Village’s premiere upcoming condominium, inviting prospective buyers and other interested folks to come have a gander.

So — in good BuzzBuzzHome form — we took a jaunt up to Markham (even though the day was a bit dreary) to see what 68 Main Street had on offer.

And the results are in! Markham is a friendly, inviting lil’ locale and 68 Main Street is set to bring a lot of action to the area.

Developers Sierra Building Group have worked hard to ensure that the 143 unit condominium both compliments the historic charm of Markham village, but also completes it.

Main Street is lined with historic buildings, interlocking brick sidewalks and gaslight lamps, with many thriving shops and restaurants–including the Antique Cafe, a coffee shop just around the corner where the BuzzBuzzHomies got to grab a Cuban-bean coffee.

The first section of the project is set alongside Main street, four-storeys high, including rooftop private terraces and street-level shops.

The display suite is a two bedroom, two bathroom model, accentuated by a warm brown/gray palate with a contemporary feel.

Large windows in the living room will allow for relaxing views of the surrounding green spaces.

A nice sized kitchen and dining area that comes with engineered hardwood floors.

The second building that is set back from the street will be 6 storeys high and feature a large Japanese-inspired rooftop terrace with interlocking stones, water features and gas BBQ stations.

We spoke with Morris Kansun of Sierra who said that the whole idea of 68 Main Street was to target end users and create a community where people would get to know each other and the rooftop is just one of the aspects that was designed with this specifically in mind.

While you’re checking out 68 Main Street’s sales center, make sure to drop in on the local shops, especially since the Markham BIA has put together some sweet coupon deals that include free coffee! (Be sure to say hi to the guys at the Antique Cafe for us too!)
