The first question that came to mind when I was checking out the info on the Post House Condominium [map], the new development by Alterra, was “could the location be any better?”
I’m talking about St. Lawrence, one of Toronto’s most vibrant and historic neighbourhoods.
Just head down to the St. Lawrence Farmer’s Market on any Saturday of the year and you’ll see what I mean.
I’ve never been a morning person so I’ve often missed out on the great Saturday mornings at the Market. But living in the Post House, you’ll be so close to the Market that you won’t have to be an early bird to enjoy all the benefits of the Farmer’s Market. That means fresh produce right at your doorstep every weekend. I’m feeling healthier just thinking about it.
The Market is also a great place to grab lunch any day of the week as it boasts a diverse assortment of restaurants and fast food stands (try the peameal bacon sandwiches!).
To add to the excitement, the North building of the Market is slated to get a full make-over later this year. A new 3 story complex will be built by 2014 which will house the Farmer’s Market.
Post House is also a stone’s throw away from another Toronto favourite, The Distillery District.
The Distillery District was once Toronto’s most under-appreciated historical sites, but in the past few years, Torontonians have come to realize that it’s one of the best places in the city to take in local culture.
A glance at the District’s upcoming events calendar demonstrates that it’s a culture hotspot. With the Artisans Art Fest coming up this long weekend as well as the month-long Art Market taking place in September and October, there’s always plenty to do. Support the local art community and check out these events.
With suites starting in the mid-$200,000 range, Post House is well-worth the price based on its location alone.
More news on this project will be coming out later this month, so we’ll be keeping you “posted” as it develops.
