We are living in the midst of stressful times. Children can’t afford breakfast. Foreclosures happening everywhere we look. High unemployment levels. As such, your dog must be stressed out.

Fret not, as Walt Disney World Resort is now opening a resort where you pooch can get away from chasing scrap-food and sleeping at the foot of the bed.

Enter Best Friends Pet Resort – boarding, bed time stories, games, flat-screen televisions, three meals a day….

This 50,000 square foot resort (with 17,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space) holds up to 270 dogs, 30 cats (cats stay in “Kitty City”), birds, hamsters and rabbits. Sorry, reptiles are not welcome.

“Best Friends has long been the industry leader for boarding, and this will be our crown jewel. We’ve taken the ‘best of breed’ in every category to create the perfect environment for pets,” said Dennis Dolan, President and CEO of Best Friends Pet Care. “Our goal is to ensure that pets staying with us have a fun, action-packed vacation – just like their families vacationing at Walt Disney World.”

The cost? $37 per night for dogs. But, you can upgrade your pets package to include bedtime stories and group-play. And, as mentioned above, rent a flat-screen TV in a private villa for $59. But wait, there is more! For the VIP (Very Important Pet) you can rent a 226 square foot suite with a private play area for only $76!

Seems crazy to me, but I don’t own any pets.

Here are some other features:
– Exclusive dog park, with a fenced walking trail bordering natural wetlands;
– a 3,300 square foot area covered with artificial turf;
– 4,500 square foot area with shaded trees;
– a 1,300 square foot water-park;
– Grooming salon; and,
– well, the list goes on……. and on and on…
