Running a website-startup is a 24/7 job, and every now and then you need a quick get-away to refresh the brain and get some relaxation.

My fiancé has a cottage in Simcoe and I have one in Muskoka, but we wanted to try something new. As such, we headed to Owen Sound’s Cobble Beach, and had a blast!

Being only 2-hours from Toronto, this is a perfect quick hideaway from the rest of the world. It was total relaxation and opulence.

The Cobble Beach [map] community is a collection of custom-built estate homes, single family homes, villas and most importantly for us, a 10-room boutique-style inn located on the coast of Georgian Bay situated around an award-winning and highly acclaimed golf course.

Luckily, while we were there, we had the chance to meet the developer of the project Rob McLeese (pictured below) – potentially one of the nicest people that I have ever met. Rob was kind enough to take us on a tour of the property and the Doug Carrick Golf Course Architect golf-course, and even had lunch and drinks with us!

Both residents and visitors can enjoy a plethora of amenities; indulge in massage, jacuzzi, pedis and manis at the Spa at Cobble Beach; dine at the Sweetwater Restaurant & Bar at the Inn; partake in an ever-unfolding list of upcoming events; or play limitless rounds of golf.

Fine dining and massages! What else could we ask for!

Of course, while there, much to the dismay of my lovely fiancé, I had to check out the residences. The Residences of Cobble Beach is a collection of attached bungalofts and single detached homes by Reid’s Heritage Homes, priced from the mid- $300,000s. Northridge Homes at Cobble Beach also offers custom-designed and built residences.

If you haven’t been there, and looking for a little get-away, then it is a must. If looking for a second home (or a primary residence) in a golf-course community, then this also is a must see!
