How do you quantify happiness?? We have no clue, but the researchers at the Gallup World Poll have surveyed thousands of people in 155 different countries, and measured their happiness.

Canada has tied in 8th place as the world’s happiest!

Thanks for Forbes, below are the top 11 happiest countries in the world:

1. Denmark
2. Finland
3. Norway
4. Sweden
5. Netherlands
6. New Zealand
6. Costa Rica
8. Switzerland
8. Canada
8. Israel
8. Australia

It is interesting to note that the five happiest countries in the world – Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands – are all clustered in the same region, and all enjoy high levels of prosperity. As such, money does buy happiness!

The United States of America placed #14.
