One development that we’ve been intrigued about here in the BBH office but haven’t written about yet is Trinity Lofts [map] by Streetcar Developments.
A project with a lot of great aspects to it, the one that we are really interested in is the local area surrounding it.
Situated on 2 Eastern Avenue in Toronto’s Lower East Side, it’s smack bang in the middle of a HOT new neighbourhood.
On first impressions you might think it’s somewhat of a remote location but a 1 minute walk to both the Distillery District and the King Street Car, and a 10 minute walk from St. Lawrence Market would suggest otherwise. (check out their score on walkscore)
Furthermore, it is next door to the West Don Lands redevelopment, which is going to transform the Lower East side into a brand new neighbourhood full of new condos, townhomes, restaurants and cafes, retail, schools, daycares, libraries, etc…
As well, there is an 18-acre park already under construction (ready summer 2012) which will connect to the Waterfront Trail and the Don River Trail, and the new Underpass Park (also under construction). All these new parks will be within 5 minutes walk of Trinity Lofts.
But wait, there’s more! The West Don Lands is going to be home of the 2015 Pan American Games Athlete’s village, so there is a firm timetable and deadline for the West Don Lands construction to be completed.
That’s a whole lot of construction over the next 5 years, and with the area already on the up, Trinity Lofts could be a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice investment, and/or a great home!!
