Parkside Village, that new Urban Village in Mississauga is now officially under construction.
With the amount of development that this project involves (30 acres), I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a while yet before we really get a feel for what it’s going to look like.
What’s more, we’ve just learnt about the new Sheridan College campus, which will be yet ANOTHER feather in the cap of the area.
Situated right across the road from Parkside Village, when the 156,000-sq.-ft. facility opens in fall 2011 it will accommodate 1,700 full-time students. That number will grow to 5,000 when phase two is completed down the road.
College president Dr. Jeff Zabudsky said the school will provide a wide range of continuing education and “customized training” on weekends and evenings.
“In the evenings, (the building) will be all lit up. As you go by, you’ll see a lot of students, you’ll see a lot of activity.
It will create a lot of energy in the environment. This is what happens when you bring a post-secondary institution into the downtown core,” he told local councilors.
There sure is a whole lot of shakin’…..sorry………buildin’ goin on in Mississauga!
Construction has begun on The Residences, with The Grand Residences scheduled to get underway later this year.
1 Bedroom, 1 Bedroom + Den, 2 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom + Den units are all available for The Residences and prices start at $229,900.
