“Sherbourne Commons”

Yes. The name “Sherbourne Commons” has been selected for the East Bayfront’s waterfront park.

This name was selected following a city-wide naming contest, where 500 names were submitted. So, after all the hublub and ho-humming, it appears that people will still continue to call the park, Sherbourne Park. Great. Thank god for the naming contest.

The name (submitted by Doug Dent) must now be approved by Toronto and East York Community Council on June 22.

My personal favourite was Merchant’s Wharf Park.

Once approved by Community Council, the park will be officially renamed when it opens later this summer.
