Purchasers from around the world seem to be jumping at the chance to own a suite in Toronto’s famous King Eddy Hotel, which is being refurbished by new owners to include condominiums in the section that was formerly a well-known fashion mart.
With the exciting history of the building, buyers seem to be loving it; the hotel has provided a temporary home to royalty, politicians, movie stars, famous authors and financial celebrities over the past century.
People also seem to be loving the chance to be able to be part of this historic Toronto architectural icon for prices that begin in the low-$400,000s. With pre-sales met so quickly, a January 2011 start of construction is expected.
The owners intend to preserve the building’s heritage, integrity and luxury, and have enlisted ERA Architects to direct the restoration. Starwood Hotels & Resorts will continue to manage the 298-room hotel under the Le Méridien brand.
Owners at The King Edward Private Residences will have the use of the hotel’s amenities, and each suite will be appointed with luxurious features and finishes.
Having a lobby like this where you live?? Amazing!!
Principal room ceiling heights will soar to 9’6”, and some designs include dramatic 10’ coffered ceilings. Among the features are also smooth ceilings, pre-finished engineered hardwood flooring, 10”-deep window sills, and balconies, terraces and Juliet balconies, all as per plan.
Gourmet kitchens offer the choice of traditional or contemporary cabinetry with exquisite stone countertops and backsplashes.
A limited selection of choice suites remains. Visit the Presentation Centre at 37 King Street East. For more information, call 416-863-3231 or visit their website www.kingedward.ca.
