A major real estate company has started marketing the Nortel Networks Carling Avenue campus in a deal that could generate more than $200 million.

DTZ Barnicke and BMO Capital Markets started promoting the sale of the 2.35-million-square-foot campus in national advertising this week.

Many real estate experts believe the federal government will eventually be the major tenant in the sprawling 400-acre, 10-laboratory property.

But it is far from clear whether it will actually own the land or lease space from investors who buy the buildings.
