As a shout-out on Earth Day, a story on Canada’s GREENEST Condo…but who is it?

There are two condos selling right now that claim to be Canada’s GREENEST condominium.

The Brook [map], brought to you by the Streamline Group, is located in North Vancouver. It boasts features such as geothermal heating and cooling, solar thermal UV collectors, heat recovery ventilation, rain water and groundwater recycling systems.

Greenlife Condominiums [map], brought to you by Del Ridge Homes, is located in Milton. Features at Greenlife include geothermal heating and cooling, on-grid electricity from solar arrays, on-grid electricity from wind turbines and solar street lighting.

Anyone know what this stuff means? It sounds good to me!

One thing I can understand for sure: Greenlife’s website says it will have ZERO carbon emissions. That’s right– nada, zip, zilch, rien. That’s pretty cool.

The Brook has achieved 67% energy cost savings for Streamline Properties homeowners making it a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Platinum certified building. That’s pretty cool too.

While I began writing this hoping to decide which one was actually greener, I’ve had an epiphany. It’s not a competition at all. They’re both good guys– or green guys if you will. And they’re both on the same team. The green team. We should all be on that team, especially on Earth Day. Awwww.
