Bicycle enthusiasts and lovers of independent businesses, rejoice. Duke’s Cycle is headed back to its original Queen St. W. location.

“We have got a building permit now and will hopefully be breaking ground in March or early April,” said Gary Duke, whose nearly century-old family business at 625 Queen St. W. was levelled by a six-alarm fire early in 2008.

While construction contracts have been signed and the building’s design meets the standards set out by Heritage Toronto, there are still a few things to tie up, among them financing, said Duke. He hopes to open the doors by April 2011.
