Consumer confidence is one of the biggest positive indicators for the residential real estate market.

And judging by recent reports, the housing market will be active this year as more people in Calgary and across the country express confidence that the dark days of last year’s recession are behind us.

“(Consumer confidence) plays a big role (in real estate) and I’m very pleased to see the numbers where they are,” said John Geha, president of Coldwell Banker Canada, who was visiting Calgary on Thursday.

The latest Harris/Decima-Investor’s Group Measure of Consumer Confidence, released Thursday, revealed that Canadian consumer confidence continues to rise.
