Google, always on the leading edge of world domination, continues to make real estate listings more prominent on their Google Maps system, and thusly, it inches closer becoming a purchaser orientated real estate search engine. On October 28 Google announced that a new “real estate” option has been added across Google Maps. To check it out, look under the “More” tab.

A simple click on the “Real Estate” checkbox results the opening of the left column to show basic real estate listings, as well as tags on the map. Search by price range, listing type, number of bedrooms and/or bathrooms, and square footage.

While this little button may look like a tiny change, the results are overwhelming; now, the real estate search-engine has prominence as opposed to having the specifically search for real estate-related terms to enter their real-estate search engine. In the United States the Zillows and Trulias must work harder to be more unique. In Canada, the MLS system as well as excellent and innovative companies such as Zoocasa must stay continue to stay ahead of the game.

While the new Google System allows for an excellent search tool for re-sale housing, BuzzBuzzHome continues to offer the first complete map-based search engine for NEW condominiums, townhomes and houses across Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver (or, search via our directory of neighbourhoods).
