Wow! Now here’s a unique marketing campaign (called “Suite 101”) from Vancouver: Rock 101 and Amacon Developments are giving away a brand-new condo in a radio advertising campaign for the project “South Main District“!

Over the next few months, 200 keys will be given out. The person with the winning key will take ownership of a brand new $350,000 condo decked out with a $10,000 home theatre system, $5,000 Mac station, $4,000 barbecue and a Harley Davidson Nightster motorcycle. BOOM!

In Toronto radio we hear advertisement campaigns with silly little jingles (remember the song “Condo Condo Condo Condo”?), weird development re-branding names such as “17-FootCeilingCondos” and re-launching campaigns such as “UpsidedownCondoPrices.com” (Electric City and UpsideDownCondoPrices). There are some really cool campaigns, such as Freed’s Fashion House, with a $100,000 Shopping Spree campaign for Holt Renfrew, but in recent memory nothing as big as Amacon’s condominium give-away.

I wonder if this new trend will make it out of Vancouver, or if we will see re-launched projects soon in Vancouver called “CouldntSellOriginalPlansSoSellingSmallerSuites.com”

The winner of The District’s contest will be announced Nov. 6, 2009.
