Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy (Gaddafi? Khadafy? Qadhafi?) is planning to visit the US in September, where he will be addressing the United National General Assembly (September 23), but is looking for some luxury real-estate to rent, and do some entertaining.

Where else would the Libyan leader want to stay, other than in Joan Rivers’ house (oh yeah, he was planning on camping in a tent on the Libyan compound in Englewood, NJ)!

As per the New York Post’s article “KHADAFY EYED JOAN RIVERS’ PLACE“, Gaddafi spotted Rivers’ house online, and offered to rent the pad for a cool $200,000 per week. FYI: Rivers’ place is currently on the market for $25 million.

Quoted from the article, this is what funny-lady Rivers had to say:

“I thought it was great. I said I would give half the rent to Lockerbie.” Rivers would have given the other half “to have an exterminator come and clean the apartment when he was done. But my houseman was not happy. He doesn’t know how to cook llama,” Rivers said, apparently unaware llamas live in South America, not North Africa.”

Unfortunately for Rivers, Khadafy decided not to rent her penthouse, to which Rivers said, “It broke my heart.”

According to the Daily News, “Khadafy is expected to seek rooms for himself and his large entourage at one of New York’s luxury hotels.”
