Ken Mariash, the man behind the Bayview and Roundhouse developments in the Songhees area, says he will be paying much closer attention to Victoria as he gears up for the next phase of construction.
With the first of three towers in the Bayview development now complete, Mariash said the focus has shifted to the design and drawings of the next two towers and the first steps of Roundhouse site remediation.
At the same time, the Calgary-based developer said, the marketing and sales focus will shift to the local market.
“One of the new markets we’ll look at is right at home here — I don’t think we have paid enough attention to Victoria,” said Mariash. “We’ve spent quite a bit of time in Calgary, Toronto and Edmonton and now we’re trying to attract in both our big product and smaller product the Victoria community.”
To that end, Mariash has brought Bob Rennie, principal of Rennie Marketing Systems in Vancouver, on board for the next stage of the development.
