Work on the addition and renovation to 130 Bloor Street West / 155 Cumberland Street is moving upwards in Toronto. Construction manager PCL Constructors Canada Inc. began the seven-storey addition atop the existing building in winter 2007.

Summary of Project

155 Cumberland, (aka 130 Bloor Street West, aka the CIL Building) is a 20-storey, 14-suite reconstruction/addition located in Bloor-Yorkville, north of Bloor, between Avenue Road and Bellair Street.

Financed in 1960 by the Bronfman family, the original CIL Building was constructed at 130 Bloor Street West.

Upstairs contains offices, including the College of Chiropractors, the French and Russian consulates, and the Bronfman-controlled Comweb Group Inc. (a motion picture support company).

Each new floor will be a single condo ranging from 5,000 to 6,000 square feet with 11-high ceilings and large protected terraces overlooking Bloor and Cumberland Street.

155 Cumberland Street is close to TTC, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Reference Library, University of Toronto, Four Seasons Hotel (both old and new), PATH, Hazelton Lanes, Village of Yorkville Park, Manulife Centre, Cumberland Theatre and The Yorkville Club.
